This year author Laurie David released her latest book, the Family Dinner. Film and TV producer David (An Inconvenient Truth) enlists more than 50 child-care experts, writers, celebrities, activists, musicians, and chefs-including Nora Ephron, Maya Angelou, Judge Judy, Michael Pollan, Sheryl Crow, and Alice Waters-in support of family mealtime rituals. Mother of two girls, David presents a grab bag of child-friendly ideas from her trial-and-error experiments before and after divorcing actor Larry David: creative table settings; quick weekday meals and leftovers; cooking with kids; table games; reading selections and discussion topics; and ways for divorced parents to establish food traditions. I had the pleasure of teaming up with Laurie and chef Kirstin Uhrenholdt to produce the Vineyard images published in the book.

There is a new additional to the North Tisbury landscape. Just completed and adjacent to the Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank, is their sister building and home to the Martha’s Vineyard Financial Group. MacNelly Cohen Architects, referencing the agricultural landscape of Martha’s Vineyard, incorporated a silo into their design. This architectural focus point greets visitors from the parking lot and in the interior foyer and stairwell of the building. Interior designer Annie Parr of Island Interiors pairs color, fabric and furniture to complement the space and enhance its functionality. Stay tuned for exteriors photos, come the thaw and greening this Spring.
This wooden panel is part of the curve of the silo and softly curves into the waiting room.

I love up-island weddings, especially when I can go to a beach or dynamic location with the bride and groom for their formals pictures. It makes them stand out from all the others. Lauren + Michael are from California and they were up for anything and allowed me to do what I do best, document and capture in my own way, their wedding. They were even cool about getting into my 1982 VW convertable to travel to Menemsha for their formals. It was great having my assistant Alex drive while L&M were in the back seat smooching and enjoying the moment.
PS- I just LOVE when dogs are included on the guest list.
